QUAD in Derby will host the BFI Film Academy course which is open to applicants aged 16 to 19 years.

Students of the BFI Film Academy course will work alongside industry professionals, including hands-on filmmaking experience to enable developing practical knowledge and skills. The unique course offers an opportunity for students to explore their own creativity in a supportive and dynamic environment. Students will also gain an Arts Award Bronze and become part of the BFI Film Academy Alumni, offering access to exclusive opportunities, advice, and professional development.

The BFI Film Academy course will take place every Saturday from January 9 to March 20, 2021. Due to Covid-19, the course will take place initially via Zoom until January 16 and then in-person workshops at QUAD. The workshops will follow social-distancing guidelines and are subject to change due to government restrictions. All participants will also receive online support via email.
