Tupton fall short to Scunthorpe
Tupton fell short in battle with Scunthorpe as controversial decision making went against the team and the game ended 19-8.
The game started off strong with a fierce tackle from Luke Marshall, and Bradley Kirk putting his opposite number firmly in his back pocket. This did not last, as a small scuffle on the halfway line gave the ball to Scunthorpe, who used the opportunity to score the first try of the game.

After a well placed restart from Sam Cooper, Tupton’s intimidating defence gave Scunthorpe no other option than to kick back. The kick was then caught and marked by Oliver Eyre. Tupton’s fierce attacking play caused Scunthorpe to make a mistake, and Sam Cooper took this opportunity to put three points on the scoreboard.
Tupton carried on with similar momentum as Jordan White carried the ball from the halfway line to Scunthorpe’s five meter line, Meeo Phrachai then carried the ball and fell just short of the try line.

The second half began with another dominant tackle from Luke Marshall and a strong series of play in the backs. Bradley Kirk further dominated Scunthorpe’s midfield.
In a last minute comeback, Luke Marshall and Philip Harrison both scored tries, however, the latter try was disallowed as held up in spite of there being no opposition players nearby.
The game ended 19-8, with both teams shaking hands going their separate ways.
