Hope Show welcomes record entries and show programme promises highlights for all the family
In the week leading up to the show, more than forty volunteers from the farming community across the area work tirelessly to prepare the Showground
Hope Showground is taking shape ahead of a full day of entertainment this Bank Holiday Monday.

Show Chairman Andrew Critchlow said that, despite the drought and the other challenges facing farmers this year, interest in both the sheep and cattle classes remains strong.
"We have the highest number of cattle entries for several years, including 16 Longhorns in four classes and good numbers of continental breeds.

"Once again, there will be strong competition in the local native sheep breeds including 107 Whitefaced Woodlands and 100 Derbyshire Gritstones. We are delighted to see so many Young Handlers entered, demonstrating once again that farming in the area has a bright future.
"We have over 100 vintage cars on show and 120 vintage tractors, which will be in the Main Ring around lunchtime and are always a highlight of the show.
"Another show favourite are the heavy horses, and this year we have a bumper entry which will be competing in various classes throughout the morning. Visitors will also be able to see jumping in the Working Hunter ring in the morning, followed by the Show Jumping in the afternoon.
"And for those in need of refreshment, don't forget to visit the charity tea tent which has raised over £12,500 for local charities," Andrew adds.
In the week leading up to the show, more than forty volunteers from the farming community across the area work tirelessly to prepare the Showground, transforming it from a greenfield site into an impressive setting for one of the region's biggest one-day agricultural shows.
"We are sincerely grateful to everyone who makes the show the success it is, including our volunteers, but also our generous sponsors, without whom the show could not happen," Andrew says.
This year's Hope Show takes place on Bank Holiday Monday, 31st August, at Hope Showground, Marsh Farm, Hope. Tickets and further information are available online at www.hopeshow.co.uk.
