Derbyshire care home expands specialist ‘Reconnect’ mental health care community for older people
The nine-bedroom expansion was celebrated with a special event for residents, families and colleagues
Eckington Court Nursing Home in Eckington has expanded its specialist Reconnect mental healthcare community, helping to meet growing demand for dedicated mental health services for older people across Derbyshire and beyond.
The expansion comes in response to growing demand for specialist mental health care across Derbyshire and beyond, giving more local families the opportunity to access dedicated specialist support closer to home.
Based on Penny Engine Lane, Eckington Court has been part of the local community since 1996 and opened its first Reconnect community in December 2025.
Reconnect Mental Health Care has been specifically designed for older people who require specialist, long-term support with complex mental health needs.
