6. Salsa dancing
If Strictly Come Dancing has spurred you to want to learn some nifty moves, head over to Matlock's Grand Pavilion for a salsa dance party on January 27, starting at 8pm. 7. Spinning
Learn the ancient craft of spinning wool at Derbyshire Eco-Centre, Middleton-by-Wirksworth, on January 14 and 15. The workshop is suitable for beginners and more advanced learners and will explore fleece and fibre preparation, teach you how to use a drop spindle and a spinning wheel and how to ply your yarn. 8. Stargazing
Enjoy the wonders of the night sky by popping into Chesterfield Observatory on Hastings Close, off Newbold Road, on Friday nights from 8pm until 10pm.You will get the opportunity to look around the observatory and do some stargazing if the weather is suitable.
