There is so much to do in Sheffield, from cultural venues and fascinating heritage to a vibrant food and drink scene. Indeed, it's hard to see and do all the city has to offer. So to help residents and visitors alike, here is a bucket list of 17 essential things – many of them brilliant hidden gems – that are well worth experiencing at least once.

7. Sip a cocktail at Public

8. Explore the Cutlers' Hall
The Cutlers' Hall is arguably Sheffield's most prestigious building, the home of the city's centuries-old Company of Cutlers in Hallamshire.
