Chesterfield Artisan Market goes from strength to strength as it enters it’s third year.We were aware when first asked to deliver an Artisan Market that the town already had a rich heritage of market history and we were excited be able to add to this with a completely different type of market – one that would widen the diversity of what’s currently on offer and provide exciting goods not previously available in Chesterfield.

Positioned magnificently adjacent to the historic Market Hall, a heart warming spectacle reminiscent of yesteryear with a truly contemporary ‘upmarket’ twist, an opportunity to browse over 80 stalls, taste the culinary treats, talk to artists, producers and designer-makers, or sample the hot authentic street food whilst being entertained by local musicians.

Our principle is to source the very finest artisan traders and products to deliver a high quality and diverse mix for our visitors. This offer compliments rather than competes with the high street retailers providing a synergistic environment. We look first at local craftsmen and women and give them priority over traders from further afield. This means we are supporting lots of local micro businesses and providing a platform from where they can showcase their creativeness as well as earn a living. Chesterfield Artisan Market now boasts over 85% of traders from either Chesterfield itself or within 14 miles – a very talented region boasting so many local artisans!

The artisan traders will have been busy, baking, brewing, preparing, making, capturing (pictures that is!), designing, distilling, sewing, stitching, stirring, cooking, sourcing, painting, growing and constructing.

All the very finest, exquisite craftsmen and craftswomen, many local to Chesterfield and the neighbouring Peak District, talented, award winning, passionate, knowledgeable, creative and wonderful bringing a whole array of mouth watering, quirky, unusual, design led, aromatic, tasty, curious, gorgeous, distinctive, original, beautiful, useful, hand crafted, locally sourced, inspiring, seasonal, tempting, fresh, delicious, bespoke, interesting, must have goodies.

The Artisan Market is a place where our visitors can connect and interact with the specialists, meet friends, be introduced to new ideas and enjoy their town to the full.

Parking is free on Sunday’s with a Chesterfield borough residents parking permit so do pop on over and discover something fabulous at our next event.
