After live music was halted due to coronavirus restrictions, musicians are making up for it with hundreds of shows planned for later this year when, hopefully, lockdown rules will have eased sufficiently to allow crowds.With both new tours and rescheduled tours there is something for everyone, and with music nostalgia big business these days, a huge number of Eighties acts are heading out for a retro revival with shows in venues near Chesterfield.

The American singer was one of the biggest stars of the decade, from her days as lead singer with The Go-Go's to solo hits such as Heaven Is a Place on Earth, I Get Weak, Circle in the Sand and Leave a Light On. She is set to play at Nottingham's Splendour Festival in July, before a solo tour which includes dates at Nottingham's Royal Concert Hall on October 8 and Sheffield City Hall on October 30. 3. Billy Ocean
The veteran star enjoyed huge success in the Eighties, with tracks such as UK number one When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Get Going and US number one Get Outta My Dreams, Get into My Car. Now he is embarking on a rescheduled headline tour performing the best of his greatest hits and songs from his latest studio album One World, including dates at Nottingham's Royal Concert Hall on September 22 and Sheffield City Hall, on October 22. 4. The Waterboys
Enjoy an Evening with The Waterboys who formed back in 1983. The band are probably best known for The Whole of The Moon, a top-30 hit on its release in 1985 and a top-five smash on its re-release six years later, which has gone on to be covered by the likes of Prince, The Killers and U2.
