Music and dance afternoon celebrates life of late folk legend Ken Johnson

A celebration of the life of a much-missed Derbyshire folk music legend is to be held this spring.

Ken Johnson, who died in October last year at the age of 70, was president of Stainsby Festival and was singer and compere at festivals throughout the country including Whitby and Warwick.

Musicians, friends and relatives will be honouring his memory at Hasland Village Hall on May 1, 2022, from 12 noon to 5pm.

People are encouraged to bring their voices and instruments and wear Morris kit or festival attire for an afternoon of singing, dancing and merriment.

Beer, cider soft drinks will be available to buy and there will be a buffet with tea and coffee.
