Chantel McGregor rocks Derbyshire venue with songs from new album

Rock guitarist Chantel McGregor will unleash a volley of new songs when she plays live in Derbyshire.

Chantel tours to The Flowerpot, Derby. on November 10 to debut tracks from her third studio album.

The new release follows two albums which came out a year ago and featured music which she performed on the Shed Sessions, a weekly live stream which ran every Saturday for more than a year during lockdown.

During lockdown, Chantel started working with David ‘Nova’ Nowakowski (Scars on 45), co-writing and recording tracks remotely over the internet as Nova is based in

Colorado, USA. Their singles ‘I Will See’ and ‘Jingle Bells’ were released on all digital streaming and download platforms in November 2020.

Two years ago Chantel released a rock cover of Lady Gaga’s single Stupid Love through US record label, Cleopatra Records,which can be downloaded and streamed from all reputable appropriate websites. She was a featured guitarist on a tribute album to Dr John, titled Gumbo Blues which was released by Cleopatra Records in late 2020.

After presenting a two-hour show on Hard Rock Hell Radio in 2020, Chantel was asked to be a regular weekly presenter every Monday morning from 10am to 12noon.

A female guitar prodigy at the age of 14, Chantel was told by major labels that she had a ‘great voice, but girls don’t play guitar like that! Wisely ignoring the comments, she enrolled at theLeeds College of Music and became the first student in the college’s history, to achieve a 100% pass mark, with 18 distinctions. Chantel left with a First Class Honours degree in

Popular Music and a coveted prize, the college’s musician of the year award.

She released her debut album, Like No Other, in 2011 and the follow-up, Like Control, in 2015. Both were produced by Livingstone Brown, whose production credits include Ed Sheeran, Robin Trower and Shakira.

Take The Power, a single from Chantel’s second album, was playlisted for five weeks on Planet Rock radio.
