He said: “I am backed in this all-live multi-media show by not only a fabulous band and musicians but a big screen featuring both live streaming, and images from the life and times of Roy Orbison, interspersed with factoids and information about what is considered to be one of the best singers the world has ever known.”

The past year has been challenging for those who rely on the entertainment business to make a living. Barry said: “I think like everyone in the world, the Covid pandemic has hit us very hard. We have not toured for 16 months; we have lost a family member. However on the upside, myself and my wife Lynne have been able to spend some precious time together as just husband and wife, and not working partners."

Barry discovered his passion for singing while working as a long-distance lorry driver. He whiled away the lonely hours on the road by singing along to artists as diverse as Michael Jackson, Wet Wet Wet and Chris Rea.

During a family holiday in Cornwall Barry was encouraged by his daughter Leonie to enter a singing competition where a fellow contestant told him he sounded just like Roy Orbison singing Robbie Williams.

Since then Barry has delighted thousands of fans around the world with performances in New Zealand, America, Holland, Germany, Austria, Denmark and Ireland.

Barry’s favourite Roy Orbison songs are California and Leah. He said: “Orbison’s songs not only have wonderful melodies and tunes, the lyrics are some of the most sublime ever written. Not only does the music take you back in time, but it can make you feel happy, sad and emotive all at the same time.

"Orbison is known as a balladeer, but he also recorded rocky and contemporary songs. His songs are quite simply timeless.”
