Else has been on Derbyshire's radar for a while and has represented the county at age group levels, as well as playing for his local club.

In 2019 Else became the youngest player to score a century in the Derbyshire County Cricket League, hitting 104 not out for Morton in their Division One match against Wirksworth.

He was also named Derbyshire U14s' Player of the Year at the county's annual awards ceremony for his contributions, finishing the season as leading runs scorer.
