Mo Farah yesterday made public his anti-doping blood-test data - as athletics was once more hit by damaging doping claims.

The double Olympic champion was one of eight British athletes, including European 10,000m champion Jo Pavey, to defy athletics authorities by agreeing to release personal test scores.

Fast bowler James Anderson has been named in the England squad for the fifth Ashes Test against Australia.

Anderson, who missed the fourth Test with a side strain, replaces Derbyshire’s Mark Footitt in a 14-man squad for the match at The Oval starting on August 20.

American 800m runner Nick Symmonds says he has been left out of his country’s squad for the World Championships because of a row over what training kit he can wear at team functions.

Symmonds, sponsored by Brooks Running, has refused to sign a mandatory USA Track and Field (USATF) contract that instructs athletes to wear Nike gear.
