Kat Driscoll must wait a week to discover whether she will be off to the Olympics.

Team GB’s gymnastics squad will be finalised next Tuesday, with the Wearside star favourite for a place in Rio following representing her country at the London games four years ago.

Driscoll though is not a shoo-in after being involved in an incredibly tight contest at the British trampoline championship at the weekend – the final event ahead of team selection.

GB team-mate and rival, Pamela Clark, from City of Liverpool, totalled 153.865 points for her three routines, with Bryony Page second (153.340) and Driscoll third (153.095).

But Kat, who represents the Apollo club in Washington, is Britain’s in-form trampolinist in 2016.

The 30-year-old, from West Rainton, has won bronze at a World Cup event in Azerbaijan and gold AND bronze at the European Championships in Spain.

Driscoll united with Amanda Parker, Clark and Page to lift the team title before finishing third in the individual competition in Valladolid.
