Shaun (44kg) had 13 wrestlers in his group and got a final placing of eighth after also losing out to a Russian opponent.

Middleton & Wirksworth coach Dean Brown said “Both lads were very honoured to represent their country for the first time.

“The experience and knowledge learnt whilst in Latvia was extremely valuable and really something to be proud of.

“Middleton and Wirksworth Wrestling Club would like to thank major sponsors Parkside Fitness Matlock and S L Auto Electrical for their support in making their first steps towards a great future in wrestling.”

Lewis and Shaun will also be spending their half-term working hard at a week-long training camp in Shropshire with the GB squad.
