Tributes paid to darts ace Kyle Anderson

Tributes have been paid to Kyle Anderson, who has died aged 33.

The Australian darts star - nicknamed The Original - was well known locally due to playing in the Ripley League after he moved to the Midlands while playing on the PDC Tour.

"A lovely man and always fun to be with, very sorry to hear about Kyle," former world number one Michael Van Gerwen wrote on Twitter.

"We had many great games and a fantastic player."

Phil Taylor commented: "What terrible news to wake up to. What a nice friendly man. RIP pal."

Stephen Bunting, a former world champion, posted: "RIP Kyle Anderson. The darts world hasn't been the same with you not around brother. You always made me laugh every time we met. Never a dull moment with you around. We are all gonna miss you mate."

The cause of Anderson’s death has not been announced.
