He watched on as his side made it three wins on the spin with a 4-2 victory at Loughborough Students.

It was a win which Noon felt was not one of the side’s finest displays.

“We weren’t great today but we got the 3 points which is the most important thing,” he said.

"I think we know as a group that we set ourselves higher standards than what we’ve shown today so that’s something for us to have a look at moving forward.

“It was good to continue winning and keep ourselves up around the top end of the table before the FA Cup game next Sunday.”

The Spireites took the lead through a penalty when Kel Fidler was fouled inside the box which was smashed home by Amy Pashley.

The home side levelled 10 minutes later when their striker found herself one on one with Watson and managed to squeeze it into the bottom corner.

It looked to be heading to the break with scores even but Gina Camfield slotted home from a corner after a scramble in the box to give Chesterfield the advantage at the break.

The game was fairly even in the early stages of the second half until Loughborough once again drew level when an unmarked player in the box rifled home.

Chesterfield substitute then lit the game up with two fantastic goals to give the Spireites the win. The first, a volley from a Pashley which she volleyed into the back of the net and the second to seal the points when she slotted cooly past the keeper.

Midfielder Sammy Stokes was delighted to come through a tough battle.

She said: “It was a tough game today, Loughborough are a decent side and really made us fight for all three points.

"It wasn’t pretty at times but it’s good to see that we can grind out results as a team even when we don’t play particularly well.

“We’re happy to get the win and move onto Grimsby in the FA Cup next Sunday.”
