Akwasi Asante struck the winner in the 89th minute, slotting past goalkeeper Rob Lainton after a clever assist by Liam Mandeville.

Asante had given Town the lead in the first 10 minutes before the visitors equalised from a controversial penalty which Luke Young tucked away.

Giving his take on the game, Keates said: “Massively frustrating.

"In possession we did not move it and we did not keep it good enough.

“In the second half we got pinned back in.

“We defended okay at points, but the sheer volume of them to be in our final third was too much.

“The first goal we concede is a mistake. He does not know where their centre forward is, he has tried to head it back to the goalkeeper, their centre forward has gambled and tucked it away.

“For five or 10 minutes after that, we struggled, they got on top of us.

“We grew a little bit in confidence after the penalty

“They kept flicking between the two shapes, it was very contrasting from what we tried to do and what they tried to do.

“They used the bottom of their box to make passes better than what we did.”

He added: “The split pass (by Mandeville) has gone straight through the middle of us and we have got caught.

“There were some bits that were okay, but more bits that were not so okay, if I am honest.

“We got pinned back too much. When we did it get it up there, it did not stick enough.”
