That is what scouts watching have said about Chesterfield’s new striker, Adi Yussuf, over the years.

They say the on-loan Blackkpool man is tallish, has an athletic build, is pacy and can use both feet, according to football scouting and match analysis tool, Wyscout.

Comfortable using his left or right boot, scouts have compiled their reports undecided which is his preferred foot.

Mobile and energetic, he can make an impact off the bench and can play in a front three.

The Tanzanian international, who has experience of playing in the Football League, plundered 21 goals for Solihull Moors in the 2018/19 National League season, earning him a move to Blackpool, penning a two-year deal with the option for a third.

Yussuf was snapped up by then Tangerines boss Terry McPhillips, but he has never made a competitive appearance for the Seasiders.

McPhillips was impressed by him in two FA Cup games for Solihull against Blackpool, scoring twice at Bloomfield Road in a second round replay in December 2018.

He brought Yussuf to the League One club in May 2019 but two months later he resigned. After that, the forward never got a look-in.

This season the striker has been on loan at Wrexham, scoring six goals in 16 appearances.

Commenting on his time at the Red Dragons, Wrexham journalist Rich Williams, of the Wrexham Leader newspaper, said: “Yussuf came to Wrexham with a big reputation for scoring goals at this level during his time with Solihull Moors.

“He never took the Racecourse by storm but his six goals still made him the Reds' leading scorer when he opted to leave for Chesterfield.

“Wrexham have lacked creativity at times this season so Yussuf and his fellow strikers were often starved of service.

“But Yussuf only really showed glimpses of his quality during his time in north Wales, although whether Wrexham can get by without him remains to be seen.”

A front two of Yussuf and Akwasi Asante, who are good friends and who played briefly together at Grimsby Town, will excite Town fans.

But do not rule out boss James Rowe unleashing a three-man strike with Marcus Dinanga - something he touched upon at one of his recent press conferences.

Ben Tyler, sports editor of the Solihull Observer, watched Yussuf play for the Moors and believes a three-pronged attack would suit the striker.

“Adi is a player who can be relied upon to provide a real attacking threat - when he is confident and in the mood,” Ben said.

“He's someone who can add plenty of pace going into the final third and is direct in his approach.

“But perhaps one of his best traits of all, Yussuf is versatile in that he can operate anywhere across the forward line and is most effective in a front-three.

“Clearly he began to find his feet again while at Wrexham and should build on that with the Spireites, but the main cause for concern is keeping his confidence high.

“There is no doubting his ability when his spirits are up and he is used in the right system, if James Rowe can find a way to make him tick then it could spell success for Chesterfield.”
