Chesterfield’s home has been renamed as the Technique Stadium following a new sponsorship agreement with Wingerworth-based training provider Technique Learning Solutions.

Spireites company secretary, Ashley Carson, told the DT: “The sponsorship of this kind and for a five-year agreement is extremely welcome at this time.

“Continued sponsorship is at present the only money that is coming into the club. Obviously match day income has dropped to zero and also there is currently no income from conference and banqueting.”

Technique is also Chesterfield’s shirt sponsor after agreeing a two-year deal in 2019.

“Most sponsorships that are concluded have a payment plan, which helps both the sponsor and also it drips the money into the club, which also assists the club,” Mr Carson said. “The agreement with Technique falls within similar terms.”

On receiving support from a local company, Mr Carson added: “This is great and especially as Technique are our main shirt sponsor and also sponsor the Chesterfield Women too. This is an amazing commitment by them and even better that they are a local company. We are looking forward to working closer with them and supporting each other.”

The rebranding of the stadium will take place in mid-July.

Town moved into the stadium for the 2010/11 season and it was named the B2net Stadium before becoming the Proact Stadium in 2012.

Technique is a nationwide training company offering courses in electrical, air conditioning and refrigeration and programmable logic controllers. Its headquarters are on Mill Lane in Wingerworth.

Spireites commercial manager, Jim Brown, said: “I would like to thank Technique Learning Solutions for their valuable ongoing support, which is very much appreciated. We were delighted to welcome them as shirt sponsors last year and it is very pleasing to see their name also attached to the stadium.”

While Mark Crook, managing director of Technique, said: “As soon as we were aware of the chance to secure the naming stadium rights, we were keen to seize it as it will provide us with further opportunities to raise our profile and make people aware of what we do."
