Tyson is set to be out for a couple of weeks with a hamstring injury he suffered in the replayed FA Cup tie against Stockport County.

The Spireites boss is keen to bring someone in who would strengthen the starting line-up rather than just be a squad player.

On whether anything has progressed in the striker search, Pemberton told the DT: “We are looking and we have made some enquiries and seeing what is available.

“What I don’t want to do is just bring anyone in.

“I don’t want arguably another squad member. I want someone who is capable of coming in and being a threat when we need him.

“We are looking all the time to strengthen but I want the right one.

“It won’t be a permanent signing. I don’t think the right one would be available at this moment in time for a permanent signing, unless someone has got a huge squad and they are trying to get rid of someone. I would have thought it will be a loan signing at the moment if we can do it.”

In the meantime, Pemberton has Tom Denton, Scott Boden, Luke Rawson and Alex Kiwomya to choose from and the Blues manager was happy with how his front two played against Maidenhead United on Saturday.

“I felt Denton and Boden played well the first half,” Pemberton added.

“Second half was a little bit tougher for them. I thought Maidenhead marked Denton really well. They made it very difficult for him which then made it very difficult for Boden.”
