Here’s how Spireites supporters reacted on Twitter to the match being called off...

@thespireites: “I know it's a bit of a pain that the match was postponed but Pembo did say we weren't quite ready yet so I suppose it's an extra 3 days prep. Also time to maybe get another player or 2 in before our first match if we need them. Every cloud.”

@GaryGorman: “You couldn’t make it up.”

@CraigHall11: “Gutted.”

@spireiterunner: “Pitch not fit for purpose. We desperately need to get out of this tin pot league.”

@longestplague: “Typical luck, that never changes. Suppose it gives us a little more time to prepare for the new season, and we won't lose today.”

@peteh1967: “When will the misery of 2020 end. We were all set for a top afternoon at the Technique.”

@Davehone81: “Tin pot league.”

@GinaSpireite: “The rollercoaster begins and then.... comes to a soggy stop look like a film afternoon instead.”

@StevoJW: “Crikey! Wait until the weather does actually get bad.”

@spireitehome: “Wealdstone you’re in the big league now....get it sorted or everyone will be calling you tinpot........Wealdstone your tinpot - got no fans got no ground.”
