Second-half goals from James Jennings and Alex Reid sealed the points for the Hatters.

“It was a tough fixture today and it was always going to be a tough, tight game,” Rusk said.

“We were facing a team in good form and who have strengthened so I am really happy we turned it into three points.

“We built pressure and we were the team on top from the start of the game.

“I thought we dealt with most threats that come our way.

"Maybe we could have probed their back three on more occasions in the first half.

“We felt at half-time that eventually there would be a space that appeared and Jennings had the ambition to get on the other side and he did and he took his goal fabulously.”
