The Spireites have a stong team spirit and boss John Pemberton must take a lot of credit for it, says striker Nathan Tyson.

Town have taken 13 points from a possible 18 since Pemberton came in at the start of January.

A number of the Blues squad have spoken about how much they are enjoying playing under him and how much time he has for all of the players.

Tyson said: “The banter in the changing room is hilarious and when you have that cohesion it runs onto the pitch, even the players who are not starting or who are not in the squad. It shows the character that we have because one day we might need those players and that is down to Pembo’s man-management and I think he has done a fantastic job.

“There is a lot of character in the dressing room. God knows what happened before - I was not here - heard some rumours and that - but that is all in the past.”

Tyson has been impressed with the level of support Chesterfield fans have given the team since he joined and he is keen to give them something to shout about.

“The fans are coming out and supporting the team, they believe in something if they are turning up,” he added.

“As long as we are sending them away happy and with a performance showing our determination to get out of the situation we are in because a lot of clubs in this position can just crumble but that is not like it here.”
