Spireites faced FA hearing over player payments today

Chesterfield will soon know their fate over an alleged breach of FA rules regarding payments to players.
It was alleged that the Spireites broke FA rule C1 with payments made to two former players, Myles Wright and Jake Orrell,
The duo’s wages were paid by a private academy, owned by ex club CEO Chris Turner and former non-league footballer Liam Sutcliffe, but all payments to players must be recorded in a club’s accounts.
The Derbyshire Times understands the club faced an FA hearing today in London to learn the outcome of the investigation into the matter.
