Spireites: Chesterfield striker Jack Lester wants to stay in football
It brings an end to his six-year association with the Spireites after joining the club from Nottingham Forest in 2007.

Hide AdLester reflected on a ‘special time’ with Chesterfield before stating his intention to remain involved with the beautiful game, and hasn’t ruled out playing.
He said: “Everyone thinks they’ve got something left to offer, I’ll probably still think that when I haven’t.”
“I’ve had a couple of tentative approaches, but obviously I’ve only just announced I’m out there.”
Lester has excelled both on and off the pitch, having already attained his UEFA B coaching badge and gained qualifications in psychology.

Hide AdHe has also had a taste of coaching at Nottingham Forest’s Nigel Doughty Football Academy, during his spare time.
“I’ve spent a lot of time coaching and that’s definitely a route that excites me,” added Lester.
“I don’t think anything will replace playing but I’m looking forward to a new challenge when that day does come.”
