USA under-20 international Ariyibi was the Spireites’ man of the match on an afternoon that saw Wilson’s men record back-to-back wins in League One.

But the Chesterfield manager disagreed with the yellow cards referee Carl Boyeson dished out to Ariyibi that saw him leave the field on 86 minutes.

Wilson said: “The first tackle outside the box was an absolute stonewall free kick, and if the referee watches it again he’ll say he got it wrong - but he didn’t just get it wrong, he got the second one wrong as well.

“What can we do? We can’t appeal against two yellow cards unfortunately, I wish we could.

“Maybe it’s a learning curve from Gboly’s point of view, but when decisions like this are given they have to be explained, some of the decisions today were very poor.”

And added: “He was unplayable. You couldn’t defend against him. Anyone in that position defending against him would have found it very difficult, he was really on fire.”
