Speaking at his pre-match press conference, the Spireites boss told the DT that they are working on adding to their squad.
“There is something simmering but we just want to make sure it is going to be right for us,” he said.

So we might be missing a couple of players at the moment but long-term I don’t just want to try and fill those gaps because they are missing because when we get them back in a week or whatever then I need the balance of the squad right so that is really where we are at the moment.”

When asked if it could happen before tomorrow night, he added: “I am not going to rule it out, no.”
Meanwhile, Pemberton revealed that young stopper Wharton has signed for the season.
Wharton came through Town’s youth system but was one of the players who departed the Blues in the summer after the academy reshuffle.

With Luke Coddington still out injured, Wharton will provide some much-needed cover for Kyle Letheren.
Pemberton said: “He has done really well in the pre-season and the games he has had. He is a young lad who is learning his trade but when we get Coddington back then we will have three goalkeepers which is what I feel we need.
“At the moment he (Wharton) is going to be that number two role for us - which he is happy to do - and I think it is good for his development. He has got a lot of good attributes. He is a good size, he is a very agile goalkeeper, he just needs that little bit of confidence and he has been training around the first-team since we have been back in so it is great for him. I am glad we have got him now, I am delighted to have him.”
