After playing their first competitive match in September, the stop-start campaign has been hit by two national lockdowns as well as suspended action due to the Government's tiering system.

This means the Trojans have played just eight times in four-and-a-half months, completing just six league games.

Northern Counties East League Premier Division fixtures are currently on hold until mid-February, with clubs left wondering if the season will resume.

Teams from steps three to six of the National League System, currently have until Friday to complete a Football Association survey and put forward their thoughts about how the campaign should be completed.

"We know where we stand and I think everyone knows where we stand. Whatever the decision the FA make, they're going to make," said Marshall.

"I don't want to publish what we've put (in answer to the survey), but the chairman and I are on the same wavelength with what we want."

If the campaign is to be declared null and void, Marshall wants the next term to begin only when it becomes apparent that a full season can be completed.

He added: "All I want is that we start a proper season when we can play a full season, and play all the cups, and not with the breaks.

"As I said in August-September, there's no point starting it if you're not going to complete it.

"It's been a shambles from day one."
