Relegation for Chorley, AFC Fylde and Ebbsfleet United confirmed as Football Association ratifies National League season conclusion

The FA Council has ratified the National League’s decision to conclude the 2019/20 season using the points per game method.

Although it was already a formality, the decision to crown Barrow as National League champions, relegate Chorley, AFC Fylde and Ebbsfleet United and proceed with the play-offs has now been rubber-stamped..

Ebbsfleet said in a statement they will not be launching a legal challenge against the decision after they were relegated by 0.002 of a point.

"This is the leanest mathematical calculation of any club in the UK to be relegated on this system,” the club said.

It is not known why it has taken the FA Council one month to ratify decision.

The play-offs take place this month and the final will be played at Wembley on August 2.

The Spireites finished 20th in their second consecutive season in the National League.
