A bumper crowd is expected at the Technique Stadium as Town fans get ready to welcome Cook back to the club.

But the Blues will have to do it without top goalscorer Kabongo Tshimanga, who has undergone an operation on a serious injury.

Today’s opponents Solihull are sixth in the table.

Good save by Loach

To deny Boyes who cut inside from the left and shot towards the bottom corner.

Grimes then made a brilliant sliding block to stop a tap-in. Top defending again from him.

Chesterfield are down to 10-men. Curtis Weston is shown a straight red for an off-the-ball incident with Mark Ellis.

Ellis is being booed every time he touches the ball.

GOOOOOAAAALLLLL!!!! 2-0

ASANTE!!!

Chesterfield double their lead on 20 minutes. Mandeville’s fierce drive from distance is parried by Boot, Asante picks up the loose ball on the edge of the box and finds the bottom corner. What a start.

GOOOOOOAAAALLLLL!!!! 1-0

WHITTLE!!!

Two in two for the little soldier.

It was good hold-up play by Asante and then just like last week, Whittle burst into the box with great determination and fires the Spireites into the lead.

1-0 after 14 minutes.

Again makes another timely block in the boxas Solihull win the first corner of the game, which comes to nothing.

Have made a bright start to this game so far. Plenty of possession and they are looking comfortable on the ball.

From Grimes to pinch the ball off Newton in the box.

Five gone, 0-0.

Is on the touchline for this one, unlike at Weymouth last week.

The rain is coming down now.

A quick wave to the crowd from Paul Cook. No big entrance from him.

‘Paul Cook’s barmy army’ rings around the Technique.
