Gateshead v Chesterfield: LIVE UPDATES

Key Events

  • FT: Gateshead 1 v 2 Chesterfield (3pm KO)
  • Spireites 5th; Gateshead 20th
  • (4-2-3-1) Fitzsimons; Sheckleford, Williams, Grimes, Maguire; Akinola, Oldaker; Mandeville, Colclough, Uchegbulam; McCallum. Subs: Palmer, Horton, Banks, Rowe, Quigley.
  • Four changes from defeat to Wrexham

Conteh smashed the ball into the net for the hosts but he clearly fouled Mandeville before doing so.

The visitors are still in control of this one but can they find that all-important winner?

Town are down to sixth in the table as it stands.

Another chance for McCallum

The outstretched McCallum did his best to turn in Colclough’s teasing cross from the left but he could not reach the delivery at the far post.

McCallum misses a sitter!

The striker has a simple tap-in, just like at Wrexham in midweek, but it is straight at Marschall. It came about after a brilliant driving run forward by Akinola into the box. McCallum has to score that.

We are back underway

No changes in the second-half.

HT: Gateshead 1 v 1 Chesterfield

The Spireites are level at the break thanks to McCallum’s equaliser.

McCALLUM!!!

Chesterfield are level just before half-time. McCallum turns in Mandeville’s low cross at the near post. 1-1

For McCallum but his shot on the swivel from near the edge of the box is blocked by Richardson.

McCallum goal ruled out

The striker heads in Oldaker’s free-kick from the right but the offside flag goes up.

Five to the break.

For Gateshead’s Richardson for pulling back Uchegbulam.
