RECAP: Chesterfield thumped by Stockport County in replayed FA Cup clash
Well…we didn’t expect Chesterfield to be playing tonight but here we are. The Spireites are back at Edgeley Park to take on Stockport County in the FA Cup fourth qualifying round after being ordered to replay the tie that they won on October 24 on penalties.
But on Monday it emerged that the Blues failed to register on-loan Burnley defender, Jordan Cropper, who started and scored in the shootout, in time with the Football Association and therefore breached the competition’s rules by fielding an ineligible player.
