Get in there! 2-1 Chesterfield and what a counter attacking move this is! Great hold-up play by Danny Rowe, a beautiful ball across from Jack Clarke and a lovely finish from Liam Mandeville, who is hitting a great spell of form at the right time. The Spireites have had to soak up a lot of pressure here, they’ve done so well, and they’ve got their reward on the counter. Brilliant!
GOOOOOOOOAAAALLLL: 1-2
MANDEVILLE!!!!
The Spireites lead again!!!
And what a lovely move that was on the counter, Mandy finishing it from six yards after good hold-up play by Rowe and a great cross by Clarke.
1-2.
Three minutes to half-time.
Another good move
By Town down the left again. Maguire swings in the cross and they win a corner. Mandeville delivers but Slocombe claims it in the air.
Nice play
Maguire chips a ball down the left for Clarke who lets it run across his body. He delivers a nice cross but Notts ‘keeper Slocombe gathered. Needed someone running across the near post there. Five to the break, 1-1.
Thoughts from fan writer Ben
Wow. What a mad few minutes at Meadow Lane. First, The Spireites took the lead, likely against the run of the play, through an absolute thunderbolt of a free-kick from Danny Rowe. However, no sooner had Town fans stop celebrating, Notts County were level. A bit of a defensive calamity from Chesterfield there, and they’ve just got to put that out of their minds, go again, and try and get in front once more. It’s bubbling up nicely here, and you feel that the team that can remain the most composed amongst it all will be the one that emerges victorious. I wouldn’t like to call this one from here.
GOOOOAAALLLLLL: 0-1
DANNY ROWE!!!!
Rowe blasts Chesterfield into the lead from a 30-yard free-kick.
GET IN!!!
