Sunderland returned to winning ways in emphatic style, and there were several standout performers in the triumph over Rochdale.

Braces from Josh Maja and Lynden Gooch helped to seal a 4-1 triumph for Jack Ross’ side, who picked up a vital three points having gone three games without victory.

It was a fine all-round performance from the hosts who showed a clinical edge in front of goal.
