New Inn beat ten man Club

New Inn Tupton overcame the ten men of Birdholme Club 2-1 in Division Three.

Matt Towndrow broke the deadlock on 21 minutes, firing in across the out coming Birdholme keeper Matt Bradwell.

It was 2-0 on 37 minutes with a stunning goal. Josh Burrow provided the cross and Alex Sturman performed an overhead kick that saw the ball fly into the bottom corner.

Birdholme were reduced to ten men a minute later when Mark Hazlehurst received a second yellow before the home side pulled one back on the stroke of half time.

Captain Scott Marshall smashed in a 25-yard free-kick to make it 2-1.

Elsewhere in the division, leaders Red Lion Whittington Moor thumped struggling Black Swan 8-2 with Ryan Whittaker causing Swan all kind of problems on his way to scoring five of Lion’s goals.

Scott Taylor, Chris Cave and Carl White adding to Swan’s woes. Swan weren’t the only side to concede eight as Matlock Town Wanderers did likewise, this time Brampton Oak Sports handing out a football lesson.

Dan Chapman led the way, scoring three, Paul Roe, Lee Bingham, Ryan Cancellara Dan Wainwright and Simon Wright’s goals completing the rout. Brimington Utd’s form so far has been up and down and Sunday was a down day as they lost 5-1 at Grassmoor Sports for whom Andy Woolvern scored twice, Ash Walters, Steven Rogers and Ben Copestake once.

FC Utd of Bolsover’s great run continued on Sunday in Division One with an excellent victory over a Tibshelf Town side who had only lost once prior to the game.

Josh Parfitt’s goals are proving to be invaluable to Utd and he was on the score sheet in this game along with Jack Weaver and Adam Kimberley.

FC Britannia beat Creswell Black Diamond 6-0. Alex Hewitt (2), Will Harcourt, Callum Lytham and Brett Turner were on target.

Matt and Mark Edinboro plus Joel Holland brought about Newbold’s downfall at Hepthorne Lane, scoring the winning goals whilst Adam Seward hit a superb hat trick in Doe Lea’s 4-2 win at West End Killamarsh who have now lost their first five games.

Six wins from six in Division Two for Britannia Rose sees them six points clear at the top. They were made to work hard to earn a victory over a solid FC Shoulder of Mutton side who just lost out by the odd goal in three, Callum Featherstone scoring the winning goals for Rose.

Second placed Brampton Rovers JMA beat Creswell Black Diamond Reserves 3-1, Renishaw MW are third following their 3-1 win over Pilsley Community, Crown Wanderers Reserves beat Dronfield Victoria 3-2, Crown Killamarsh’s woes continued with a 5-1 defeat by Hollingwood Athletic.
