Boss Rowe said: “I’m delighted to bring Akwasi on board. His goalscoring record speaks for itself and he’ll be a real asset.
“His all-round play has improved since I first met him as a 17-year-old and I have no doubt that our supporters will enjoy seeing him play.”
On being reunited with Rowe again, Asante said: “He has got good man-management skills and I really enjoy working for him. I’d say he’s brought the best out of me so far this season.

“It’s a massive challenge but I do believe we’ve got the right man here. This could be the turning point for the club.”
The Dutch-born forward only signed for Gloucester in June after scoring 27 goals in 36 games in an 18-month spell at National League North rivals Chester City.
Asante started his career at Birmingham City and Rowe was his youth coach so the pair link up once again.
