The Gladiators had already been forced to postpone their home game with Scarborough Athletic on Saturday, but now Tuesday night’s scheduled home meeting with Nantwich Town plus the Buildbase FA Trophy visit to Coalville Town on Saturday are also now off. The Gladiators will be forced to forfeit their place in the FA Trophy competition.

“While it’s very disappointing that this situation has arisen with the team on such a good run, the health of everyone must be paramount so we need to follow instructions and guidelines to the letter to ensure that everyone stays safe,” said a Matlock spokesman.

“I’m sure all of our supporters and everyone connected with the football club wishes a speedy recovery to those affected and our supporters will no doubt be back supporting our players once we can resume playing football again. “

As things stand Matlock’s next game will now be a visit to Atherton Colleries on Tuesday week.
