For a first ever game against the Pirates, Alfreton will have had their batteries recharged from the enforced lay off whilst Rovers will be looking to bounce back from a 1-0 FA Cup first round defeat at Tranmere Rovers on Saturday.

Reds manager Nicky Law has no new injury worries and will be without just long-term victims Andi Thanoj and Dan Gray which means he will have plenty of options all over the park as he looks for his side to build on the 1-0 win at Altrincham in their last outing on November 1.

Indeed, if Alfreton can record a fourth win from their last five home games, it could lift them out of the relegation zone.

Relegated from the Football League last season, Rovers have adapted to Conference football well after a sticky start to the campaign and they have since put together a very good run which has taken them into the play-off places.

On the road, the Pirates have plundered 12 of their total of 32 points with wins coming at Lincoln City (3-2), Southport (1-0) and AFC Telford United (1-0) in their last league outing on November 1.

Draws have been secured at Forest Green Rovers (1-1), Eastleigh (1-1) and Aldershot Town (2-2) whilst defeats have been tasted at Barnet (0-2), Altrincham (1-2) and Braintree Town (0-2).
