The likes of Jay Sheridan, Joe Rowley, Jack McKay, Charlie Wakefield and Liam Mandeville are all on the fringe of the first-team and are yet to nail down a regular starting place.

Mandeville started Pemberton’s first game in charge in the win against Sutton United but has been among the substitutes for the last three matches.

McKay has come on in three of Pemberton’s four games but was not involved against AFC Fylde after striker Nathan Tyson arrived from Notts County on loan.

Sheridan was on the bench against Sutton but has not been included in the squad since, while Rowley and Wakefield are yet to get any minutes at all apart from in the friendlies against Staveley Miners Welfare and Ilkeston Town.

When asked about what Rowley has to do to be involved, Pemberton said: “Understand where we are. Understand what is needed at the moment.

“We are in a relegation fight and we have to earn the right to play.

“When I have looked at the games it is all the basic bits. If you have got a man, you have got to track him, you have got to defend well.

“One of our weaknesses is in possession we just lack a bit of confidence sometimes or we get hurried or we get a little bit stretched and then we tend to end up in a fight which is a defensive fight.

“He (Rowley) is no different to any of them; Charlie Wakefield, I said the same with Jack (McKay), I said the same with Mandeville and every player. That is not just Joe, that is everyone, they have got to do their jobs.”

Meanwhile, bookings are being taken for the Spireites Sports Club, taking place during the February half-term break.
