Left-backs Branden Horton and Bailey Clements, right-back Ryheem Sheckleford, central defender Joe Cook and central midfielder Darren Oldaker have all come in.
Ollie Banks has sealed a return to the Spireites as well, but that one has not been officially announced by the club just yet.
With the new National League season starting in six weeks, we thought we would have a look at how the new boys might fit into the starting line-up.
We’ve gone with a 4-2-3-1 formation since that is Paul Cook’s favoured system and we’ve gone on the basis that those who finished last season injured will be fit come August 6.

It could be either of the two new left-backs. We don't really know a lot about either of them at this stage. It should make for an interesting pre-season battle. Photo: Tina Jenner
With Jak McCourt and Jim Kellermann choosing not to sign new contracts and what looks like a bad injury for Manny Oyeleke, Town are now a bit light in numbers in central midfield. It sounds like boss Cook has been an admirer of Oldaker for some time so I would expect him to get the nod. Photo: Tina Jenner
Although he has not been officially announced by the club yet, we understand he will become a Chesterfield player on July 1. He scored 12 goals from midfield for Barrow in League Two last season and captained the Bluebirds. He could potentially player higher up but we've gone for a central midfield role for now. He should bring some good experience and leadership. Photo: James Williamson
As previously mentioned, Sheckleford's arrival should mean King moves further forward where he can do more damage in the final third and concentrate on attacking rather than defending. Photo: Tina Jenner
