But after Curtis Weston’s winner I think we have got one foot in safety. We have the equal second-best record in the form table over the last five games.

Dean Keates, the Wrexham manager, gave an interesting post-match interview which appeared to be at variance with reality, in which two of our goals didn’t count.

Nonetheless the three points are definitely registered on the league table as belonging to Chesterfield and I’m sure we are all happy with the actual result.

Our goal difference of -14 is the worst of the sides in the relegation scrap, but Fylde have no wins in five and neither do Aldershot. Dagenham keep drawing and Wrexham have only two wins in the last five.

What a difference a bit of pace makes to a football side. With Fondop and Tyson in the side we can press the opposition and stretch the game. The team is not ideal but you get the feeling that we can match anyone in this division and continue to pick up points. Five wins and a couple of draws needed and we should be okay.

It’s Yeovil away next and on paper it is a tricky match that the Spireites aren’t expected to get any points from.

I fancy us to match them and it’s a game where we could hope to get a draw, if not sneak a win.

Yeovil were knocked out of the FA trophy by Notts County on Saturday at Huish Park. Notts ended the game with only nine men on the pitch for the last 10 minutes so it’s not a game we should fear and hopefully put up a better televised performance than the last one.
