Here are our player ratings from the game:

Shwan Jalal 5

Conceded four goals so it was not his best night but he was exposed by those in front of him. Saved well from Jack Diamond with his feet in the first-half but the rebound fell straight to George Thomson who made it 2-2. Made an excellent low stop on 89 minutes at 3-3 from Diamond but he was beaten three minutes later by Jack Muldoon for the winner.

Jordan Cropper 5

The wing-back did well going forward in the first-half and provided a superb low cross from the right for Tom Denton to make it 1-1. Cleared Wayne Burrell’s header from a corner off the line before half-time. He was not as threatening after the break. All four of Harrogate’s goals came from attacks down Chesterfield’s right as he and Josef Yarney struggled to cope with the pace of Diamond.

Josef Yarney 3

A torrid night for the centre-half. He and Cropper were troubled by the pace of Diamond down the left and Harrogate’s attacking play in general. Subbed on 66 mins for Regan Hutchinson.

Will Evans 4

It was not a good night for Chesterfield’s back three as they struggled to cope with Harrogate’s pace and front two Jon Stead and Jack Muldoon, who both scored. Evans was a threat all night from set-pieces and came close a couple of times to finding the net.

Haydn Hollis 3

A difficult game for the centre-half who could not contain Stead and Muldoon, who he lost for the injury-time winner. He was dragged out of position time and time again but Harrogate’s switch of play which left space in the box for Stead and Muldoon.

David Buchanan 6

Probably the only one in the back five who stuck to his defensive duties. Got forward when he could but it was difficult given Harrogate’s pace on the counter-attack.

Curtis Weston 7

A busy performance from the midfielder who must have covered some ground distance-wise during the game. Got some good tackles in but just needed to be a little better in possession. Had one opportunity but he sliced his shot from the edge of the box in the second-half.

Jonathan Smith 6

Just like Weston he gave everything but not as all-action. Had one early effort that went over the bar.

Liam Mandeville 8

Probably his best performance of the season after being called up by England C this week. He saw a lot of the ball and used it well. Put Chesterfield 2-1 up on 29 minutes with a low finish inside the area for his fourth of the season. Started to tire in the second-half and was subbed on 66 mins.

Nathan Tyson 8

A top performance from the striker who had the beating of Harrogate’s defenders all night with his pace and trickery. Got the assist for Mandeville’s goal. Came close a couple of times to scoring. Subbed on 75 mins which was more down to fitness and with Saturday in mind more than anything else.

Tom Denton 8

A goal, assist and played a part in another goal. Had a great chance from close-range to make it 1-1 before equalising from six-yards moments later for his sixth of the season. Made a nuisance of himself for Chesterfield’s second goal as he flicked the ball onto Tyson who set up Mandeville. Nodded the ball down at the back post for Boden to make it 3-3. Was excellent helping out defensively with a number of clearing headers.

Regan Hutchinson 7

Came on for his debut on 66 minutes and looked impressive. He was confident on the ball and looked to go forward at every opportunity. Provided the cross which Denton headed into the path of Scott Boden to make it 3-3. Harrogate’s fourth goal did come down his side so perhaps he could have done better with that.

Mike Fondop 5

Replaced Mandeville on 66 minutes but found it difficult to get up to speed with the pace of the game. Did play Tyson in on goal but Harrogate defender Burrell made a great block. Was booked for a late tackle on Thomson.

Scott Boden 7

Replaced Tyson on 78 minutes and equalised four minutes later, poking home Denton’s knock-down at the near post. Went through on goal late on but Burrell got back and pinched the ball off him.
