Gunning’s free-kicked evaded everyone and nestled in the net and it turned out to be the winner.
Town dominated large periods of the game at Meadow Lane and restricted the hosts to very little.
It was an impressive showing from the Blues having only just come out of isolation.
Chesterfield are eight points off the play-offs but have four games in hand.

. Grant Smith 8
A clean sheet on his Town debut. He did not have any notable saves to make but his positioning and kicking was excellent. He was very assured. Photo: Phil Tooley
. George Carline 9
Man of the Match for me. Defensively solid and was a threat going forward. He was everywhere. Photo: Dean Atkins
. Will Evans 8
A no-nonsense display. Won some big headers in the second half and he was always in the right position. Photo: Rachel Atkins
