Tyson has not played a single minute of pre-season due to a calf injury and the Spireites boss is wary of rushing him back too soon.

“We are just building him back properly,” Pemberton told the DT. “What I don’t want is a little niggle to become a problem. He had a slight tear in his calf which would have been a problem if he had played (against Belper). We just want to get it right. He is on the mend but we just have to see how he is tomorrow. But if there is any doubt with him I am not going to use him. We will just see how he is but he is not a million miles away hopefully.”

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Kyle Letheren is set to make his competitive debut after missing the game against Guiseley due to a Covid precaution.

Pemberton said: “He is okay. His little boy came back with a cough so we had to get Kyle tested on Friday (day before Guiseley game). He is back in training now and his boy is clear and so is Kyle. “

Curtis Weston played his first 45 minutes of pre-season against Guiseley and is likely to be included in the squad.

“He had a similar thing as what Tyson had,” Pemberton said. “He has come through all right, he has trained well this morning and he has had no reaction to his 45 minutes against Guiseley.”

It has been a disruptive pre-season for the Blues due to Covid difficulties but Pemberton said he has noticed a “difference” in the players now that the game against Wealdstone is edging closer.

On Saturday’s opponents, he added: “They are obviously a good side because they got promoted last season. They will be on a high. It will be a tough game. I think we are a big scalp for people and it is their first home game so I am sure they will be buzzing for it. They have got some good players. They have a decent way of playing where they all work hard together. It is a game we are looking forward to.”
