The former Leyton Orient and Burton Albion man was a regular when Sheridan took over in January 2019 but his game time was limited last season when John Pemberton came in as caretaker manager.

On being announced Waterford FC boss, Sheridan said: “I’m delighted to have gotten everything sorted and I can’t wait to get down to the training pitches and get stuck in.

“I am under no illusions of the task in hand. I am more than aware of what the club means to fans, and those involved.”

The former Republic of Ireland international added: “We have set out some goals, and I will be pushing the players to make sure we achieve what we have set ourselves.”
