'Eoin is a player I know very well' - Ian Evatt makes former Chesterfield striker his first signing at Bolton Wanderers
Evatt, 38, has made Doyle, 32, his first signing since becoming head coach at Bolton last week.
The striker, who scored 25 goals in 28 games to help Swindon Town win promotion to League One this season, has penned a three-year deal with the Trotters.
The pair won the League Title at the Spireites in 2014 and will be hoping to repeat that success once again.
“I got a call off the gaffer when he got the job and I’m delighted to be here,” Doyle, who had been linked with a move to rivals Mansfield, said.
’The gaffer played a big part in me deciding to come to Bolton. I obviously played with him at Chesterfield and I kept an eye on how he was doing at Barrow – he did an unbelievable job there and far exceeded the expectations. I’m excited to work for him.
“The style his teams play is good for me personally and I cannot wait to get going.”
Evatt led Barrow to the National League title before leaving to join Wanderers, who will be playing in the same division as his former club after being relegated from League One.
“Eoin is a statement of intent by the club and is a player I know very well,” Evatt said.
“He has many qualities both as a player and as a person, and we are looking forward to getting started.”
