Here are six talking points from the game:

Out of the bottom four

It has been a long time coming but the Spireites are finally out of the relegation zone for the first time since November 26.

They are not out danger yet as they still sit fifth from bottom of the division but they are now two points clear of Maidenhead United who slip into the drop zone.

Boss John Pemberton said escaping the relegation places is a “psychological boost” going into the final nine matches of the season.

Tom Denton

The striker put Town in front with a close-range header from Liam Mandeville’s corner.

He is really finding some form and has scored three in his last four and has seven in total for the season so far.

His defensive duties should not go unnoticed either as time and time again he heads corners and set-pieces to safety.

That is now five wins and a draw from Pemberton’s eight games in charge.

Sixteen points from a possible 24 is an impressive return but thoroughly deserved for the way they are fighting for each other.

Jordan Cropper

Took his first goal for the club superbly, smashing the ball into the roof of the net from a tight angle.

The wing-back, 19, has been a good addition since joining on loan from Burnley and most Spireites fans would probably not mind seeing him back at the Proact next season.

Superb travelling support

518 Blues fans made the trip to Victory Park and they sang their hearts out non-stop. They chanted Pemberton’s name throughout half-time and were excellent the whole 90 minutes.

Ross Fitzsimons

Came on for his debut at half-time for the injured Shwan Jalal and was called into action a couple of times after the break. The decision to sign a goalkeeper on loan was criticised by some Town supporters who felt the funds would have been better spent on a midfielder. But after the game Pemberton said having an experienced goalkeeper rather than a youngster to bring on justified his decision.
