Decision made on Fulham pair who have been on loan at Chesterfield
Devan Tanton and Matt Dibley-Dias have returned to Fulham after being on loan at Chesterfield in the first-half of the season.
Right-back Tanton made 18 appearances in total, while Dibley-Dias featured five times before suffering a knee injury in August which required surgery. Tanton had been a regular starter recently up until the last two games when he was left out against Oldham and MK Dons. Both had been due to stay at Town until the end of the season but the two clubs have come to an agreement at the midway point of the campaign.

The Spireites signed three players on loan earlier this week in Sam Curtis, Sil Swinkels and Sammy Braybrooke, taking their total of loan players to eight, but teams are only allowed to name five in a matchday squad so some would have had to miss out. With Curtis being a right-back, and Braybrooke a central midfielder, the writing was on the wall for Tanton and Dibley-Dias.
As well as Curtis, Swinkels and Braybrooke, the Blues also have James Berry and Will Dickson on loan, although the latter’s deal was set to expire two days ago and nothing has been confirmed either way yet on what the next steps are for him.
On Tanton and Dibley-Dias, the Spireites said: “We would like to place on record our thanks to the duo for their contributions whilst in North Derbyshire and wish them all the best for the future.”
The transfer window is open until 7pm on February 2 and the latest name to be linked with Chesterfield is free agent left-back Tom Pearce, who was signed by Paul Cook at Wigan Athletic. Pearce is available after leaving MLS side Montreal.
Chesterfield are seventh in League Two and they return to action on Saturday at home to Colchester United, a side they lost 6-2 against in the reverse fixture.
