DEBATE OF THE DAY: Was Giroud red card harsh and is Roy Keane right that Arsenal are not good enough?

In a miserable week for English sides in the European Champions League, was Olivier Giroud unlucky to be red-carded in last night’s 2-1 defeat at Dynamo Zagreb?

And, as Roy Keane said afterwards, are Arsenal really not good enough to progress this year?

Giroud went for a soft second yellow card while Keane said on ITV: “It’s what I expect from Arsenal, they are short. Looking at the spine of the team, the players in the middle of the park.”

On Tuesday both Manchester clubs were beaten in their Champions league openers with United’s night of misery compounded by a double leg fracture for Luke Shaw.

Only Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea had any joy with a 4-0 win over Maccabi Tel Aviv.

However, having won only one match so far this season in the Premier League, Chelsea know the importance of returning to winning ways domestically against fourth-placed Arsenal on Saturday at Stamford Bridge.
